![]() ![]() The free download works as a total conversion mod for Sonic Generations. Even Unity/Unreal 3 for sure has differences between the PC version of the engine and the 360 version, so some things that the engine needs to run might just be missing, even if it's fully readable and executable by Windows, which takes manual reverse engineering into a coding language we can use and understand. 36 comments Fans have done what Sega won't - clever-clogs modders have released a version of Sonic Unleashed for PC. The game allows the user to choose between Sonic or the Werehog, each of which has its skills and levels. ![]() ![]() Even a best case scenario game like a Unity game or something might not work properly. Sonic Unleashed is a video game in the platforming genre that incorporates gameplay elements from previous Sonic games. This project is fantastic, but not only is it years away from being usable, it would take even more years to get a fully funcitonal (and accurate) Unleashed PC port using this tool after it's completed. There might be commonalities between games on the 360, especially stuff like file structure or Havok, but not enough to get everything fully readable by Windows and modern x86 PCs. It's entirely possible, with the help of Xenia emulator and Generations PC for reference, but despite Generations having said native PC port, no one has reverse engineered the game or engine yet. Without the source code it'll still be years and years before a fan effort can just port Unleashed to PC. Though the Xbox 360 used DirectX and a heavily modified version of Windows, the architecture is so different that even this tool is only really a small help. ![]()
